Cuzco - Amauta Spanish School

LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN CUZCO
The Amauta Spanish Scool, founded in 1996, is the first and most important Spanish school in Cuzco. Its partner school is housed in a fine colonial building just 5 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas, the centre of Cuzco. The residence is also located in the school building. The school maintains spacious classrooms, a computer room with free Internet access, a spacious lounge and a sunny terrace. All teachers at Amauta have Spanish as their mother tongue, along with the necessary qualifications for teaching Spanish. They endeavour to introduce students to the customs of the native inhabitants and Peruvian culture, alongside the language aspect. The teaching staff come from all over Latin America and have all completed Amauta teachers training. They accordingly use the most modern teaching techniques.

ACCOMMODATION
The school offers two different types of accommodation in Cuzco: living with a local host family in a single room with full board or accommodation in the school’s residence, which is located in the school building. The residence offers single rooms with half board. Most host families live between 20 to 30 minutes walk from the school.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
As a complement to the language course, the partner school offers a varied recreational programme. This includes a city tour through Cuzco’s old town, welcome dinner for new students, and courses in Peruvian cooking, dancing and music as well as salsa and Latin American film evenings. The school also offers outings, excursions and treks to Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo.
