LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SANTIAGO DE CHILE
The school is in a quiet side street in one of Santiago’s most popular residential areas. Restaurants, bars and cafés are nearby and the closest subway station is only 10 minutes walk. ECELA is a medium sized school, with an average of 60 to 70 students during the peak season. It occupies a three-story building with a total of 13 bright, friendly classrooms and a lounge. Other facilities include computers with free Internet access, a library, TV room and a large yard, where students can relax during the breaks. All the teachers at the school are university graduates with solid experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is with carefully selected host families who are located 15 to 20 minutes from the school. The families offer single room with half board. Hotel rooms, apartments and communal accommodation can also be arranged upon request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
There are lots of things to do in and around Santiago and the school organizes a very extensive and varied program of activities. During the week, there are Spanish and Latin American films, a cooking or salsa-dancing course, visit the sights of the city or just explore with other students. Three times a month, the school organizes a weekend expedition to such destinations as Vina del Mar or Valparaiso, river rafting, skiing or snowboarding in the Andes, or wine tastings at one of the many vineyards around Santiago. Sports such as riding, tennis, squash or volleyball can also be organized by the school.
