LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BUENOS AIRES
The Escuelas y Centros de Espanol en Latino America (ECELA) is a member of the Latin Immersion group, which has schools in Argentina and Chile. The school in Buenos Aires is located in Recoleta, one of the city’s most prosperous and elegant neighbourhoods, where the many inns and cafés offer tempting cultural delicacies. The trendy area is known for its range of shopping possibilities, alongside its nightlife. The famous Recoleta Cemetery is also just a few blocks away from the school. The city centre is a good 15 minutes away by subway. The highly qualified teachers are all university graduates experienced in teaching Spanish to foreigners. The school exudes a warm, family atmosphere. There are 20 classrooms, computers with free Internet access, lounges with TV/DVD, a small library and wireless internet. The government-registered school has the goal of giving students a familiarity with Latin American culture and Argentina’s unique society.
ACCOMMODATION
Many of the carefully selected host families live in the vicinity. Students with accommodation in the city centre can easily reach the school in 20 to 30 minutes by the subway. Accommodation is in single rooms and includes breakfast and evening meal. Other types of accommodation can be organized on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
A wide range of recreational activities and excursions is available. Students can be inspired by seeing the tango and take dancing courses. Group dinners, BBQs, tours of the city and visits to museums and theatres are included in the programme. Every kind of sport is possible in Buenos Aires- the school can provide detailed information. Many weekends feature 2 day excursions to the Valdes Peninsula, the glaciers of Patagonia or trekking in the northwestern provinces.
