LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN OAXACA
The Solexico Language and Cultural Centres, with schools in Oaxaca and Puerto Vallarta, have existed since 1997. Solexico’s philosophy centres around providing students with Spanish language courses combined with Mexican life and culture. Qualified language teachers, small classes and a pleasant, friendly learning atmosphere also distinguish our partner school. Solexico in Oaxaca is located in the heart of the old city, just two blocks from the historic Santo Domingo Monastery. The Zocalo is also very close by. The school is housed in a typical colonial building with a large interior courtyard, where students gather during the breaks. The building’s thick walls contribute to a cool and pleasant atmosphere- especially on hot summer days. The school is surrounded by a large number of cafés, museums, art galleries and shops.
ACCOMMODATION
In its Homestay program, Solexico offers single rooms with half or full board in carefully selected host families. For students, this is an optimal opportunity to get to know Mexican culture and way of life close up. In addition to host families, there are other possibilities for accommodation: e.g., in a private apartment, house or hotel. The school is happy to assist in helping to find the type of accommodation they are interested in.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school offers daylong excursions to Monte Alban, Hierve el Agua or the famous El Tule Tree, to name a few examples. Mescal distilleries can also be visited, as can beautiful churches and monasteries. Solexico offers 2 and 3 day excursions to Puerto Escondido, Puerto Angel or Huatulco, where students can enjoy the glorious pacific beaches and the relaxed, happy atmosphere of these towns. Other activities are available, including outings to nearby towns, visits to archaeological sites, mountain bike touring, hiking, climbing or parasailing.
