LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN OAXACA
The Becari Language School is a medium sized school in which Spanish has been taught in a relaxed atmosphere since 1992. Despite its relatively small size and intimate atmosphere, the school has a pronounced international orientation and welcomes students from as many as 20 countries. Housed in a glorious 17th century building in the centre of Oaxaca, Becari Language School offers a multifaceted, balanced programme of activities alongside a wide range of language courses. The school teaching staff are very well trained and focused on giving individual attention to students. The infrastructure comprises bright classrooms, surrounding an interior courtyard. The school buildings house a restaurant and cafeteria where coffee is served free of charge to students in breaks between classes.
ACCOMMODATION
The school offers accommodation with carefully selected host families in single rooms with half board. Care is taken to ensure that the families are not too far from the school and located in safe areas. Most host families accordingly live within 5 to 15 minutes walk from the school. Host family accommodation is undoubtedly the best way of experiencing Mexican everyday life, although other types of accommodation are available in hotels and apartments. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The Becari Language School offers a variety of workshops (cooking, dancing, weaving, ceramics). Every Friday, Mexican and Spanish films are shown and every Wednesday visits are organized to a variety of cultural events in Oaxaca. Students have the option of weekend excursions organized by the school (e.g. to Mitla, Tlacolula, Tlacochahuaya, Monte Alban, Teotilan del Valle or San Felipe). Many students organize their own groups for excursions.
