LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN ANTIGUA
The Spanish Academy Antigüeña was founded in 1985. The small school features a personalized and individual teaching style. The school is located in the center of Antigua, just a few minutes by public transportation from the market place. There are 15 classrooms, a small library, free internet, a terrace, and a small garden. The school offers one-on-one lessons or lessons with just two students and the teacher. This way, the lessons are structured to be personlized and tailored to the individuals. The atmoshpere is pleasant and casual. All instructors at the school draw off of their extensive experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The school management has carefully selected the host families. It is an enriching experience to stay with a Guatemalan family, to learn more about the culture and mindset of the people. Accommodations are a single room with full board (Monday through Saturday). The school attempts to arrange accommodations that are fairly close to the school. EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The school offers a well-rounded activities program that includes trips to museums, sightseeing (eg., ruins, churches, coffee plantations), salsa and merengue dance lessons, sports, and cooking courses. In addition, bike tours in and around Antigua and a weekly excursion to Tikal, Rio Dulce, Coban or Monterrico Beach. The school also gives additional advice for individual activities and excursions.
