LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN CUENCA
The Estudio Sampere, a sister school of the renowned Sampere school in Spain, opened its doors in Cuenca in 1995. Thanks to Sampere’s 50 years of experience in Spain, Estudio Sampere managed, within a very short amount of time, to gain recognition as a high-quality language school. Under the administration of the capable native headmaster along with the most committed of teaching staff, the lessons at this school are taught with a South-American feel. The school is located above the river «Tomebamba» and is easily accessible within walking distance from the city centre. The Estudio Sampere is well equipped, with ten classrooms, a self-study room, a multi-media centre as well as WiFi internet access. Also at the students’ disposal are a cafeteria and a student lounge as well as a spacious garden and terrace.
ACCOMMODATION
The language school sets great store by its choice of good host families who are genuinely interested in accommodating a foreign students and providing them with insight into the country’s culture. The families offer single rooms with full board with separate bathroom in some cases. Other types of accommodation are available upon request. Transfers from the airport, as well as the flight from Quito to Cuenca and return are not included in the price, although they can be arranged by the school.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Movies, fiestas and meetings with local people are organized by the school, as are excursions, including visits to Indio markets, cultural monuments, villages featuring craft traditions or excursions into one of the national parks. The school is happy to assist in organizing trips or excursions during or after the course (Galapagos Islands, Quito, etc).
