LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BOCAS DEL TORO
The language school in Bocas del Toro, Spanish by the Sea, was founded in 1998 and is situated in the centre of the town, close to hotels, bars, restaurants, internet cafés, and shopping. Classes at the school are not conducted in the traditional classroom setting, rather, they commonly take place oustide of the building on the terrace, in the garden, or at a café near the school, lending an exciting and unique atmosphere in which to learn Spanish. Coffee and tea are served during the breaks. Added attractive features are that classes are kept small, with just two or three students; the atmosphere is casual; and the teachers are very helpful. The school does have ten classrooms, a library, a number of computers, internet (user-pay), a terrace, and a garden with palm trees and banana plants.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The school arranges single rooms with breakfast at host famlilies, most of which are located close to the school. Alternative accommodation may be arranged at a student residence, with double or multiple-bed rooms (single available with surcharge) and breakfast can be purchased for around USD 2.50. EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
On Monday mornings the school provides information on the week’s choices of activities and excursions. The school arranges half-day and full-day trips, including such trips as a tour of cocoa farms, sailing trips with a catamaran, or visits to some of the smaller towns in the surrounding area. The school also works with diving, sailing, and surf lesson providers.
