THIRD OLDEST CITY IN CUBA
In the past, Trinidad served as an important port city. In addition to tobacco, sugar was the most important trading commodity. The small city is the third largest in Cuba, beaming a special charm with its well-preseved colonial architecture. The city is best seen on foot. The cobblestoned streets and the old, traditional houses transport the visitor to another time. Outside of the city are 20 kilometres of sugar cane plantations – called ‘Valle de los Ingenios’ – which together with the city were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A main attraction is the ‘Plaza Mayor,’ which still today is a reminder of the long-gone colonial times. All the significant museums are in close proximity.

DREAMY BEACHES RIGHT AT THE DOORSTEP
White sand beaches and turquoise-coloured waters are very close to Trinidad, at the Ancon Beach or on the sand island of Cayo Blanco. It is here that one can find a colourful and varied underwater spectacle: different corals, Gorgonians or Sea Fans, and tropical fish.
