LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN HAVANNA
The Sprachcaffe in Havana is Cuba’s first government certified language school: it belongs to the worldwide Sprachcaffe group and is located in the prestigious Miramar, a quiet, attractive residential district. The city centre and the old town of La Habana Vieja are 15 to 20 minutes away by public transport. The classrooms are bright and air-conditioned. The school has a good infrastructure with cafeteria, kitchen, lounge and an attractive garden with a lawn and chairs. The school also has a dance room with a mirror wall, where students can practice Latin American dancing and take courses in it.
ACCOMMODATION
The school recommends the apartments in the Miramar quarter. The hotel offers clean apartments with bedrooms, bathrooms, a balcony as well as a living room complete with a well equipped kitchen (expected to be available). The hotel has a snack bar where a small breakfast is served. You can also take advantage of the breakfast and evening buffet for a reduced price in a neighbouring hotel where you can also use the spacious pool area for free and make use of the sauna and fitness centre for a modest fee. Accommodation can also be arranged with a host family but the majority of our language learners choose to stay in an apartment.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school offers an extensive recreational programme. Some of the elements are free and others can be booked at the time. Cultural events and sports are virtually unlimited in Havana: concerts, communal dinners, parties, and meetings with Cuban students or sports such as diving. A visit to a tobacco factory or where the famous Havana Club rum is made are also highly recommended. The school is associated with a travel agency, which can provide many additional tips and organize excursions.
