Sámara - Intercultura
LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SÁMARA
Intercultura, with its main location in Heridia close to Costa Rica’s capital city of San José, offers year-round Spanish instruction right at Sámara beach, near the centre of the city. Intercultura’s goal – in Heredia as well as in Sámara – is to teach the Spanish language in a personal atmosphere. All teachers at the school have a university degree in Spanish and have taken the school’s own ’Spanish as a foreign language’ course. The classrooms are are housed in a building that is situated directly at the beach and are comfortable, airy and have audio-visual systems and air conditioning. The school features a tropical garden that stretches right to the beach, a student lounge, a TV room, a kitchen, a study area and hammocks for the students to relax in.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The school offers accommodations at host families that includes breakfast and dinner, seven days a week. This is the ideal opportunity for students to experience the Costa Rican culture and lifestyle. The host families are generally located near the school. Note: The small distances to the school and the beach can be covered by renting a bicycle as well.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Intercultura offers a great selection of activities for after lessons and on the weekends, most at no extra cost to students. From Monday to Thursday the most popular dances are on the program: Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and the Marcado. To foster cultural and social exchange with the locals, students can take part in mutually-enjoyed activities such as soccer, bowling, rollerskating, dance and theatre shows, discussion groups, concerts and disco nights. During this cultural exchange students meet with local students in a relaxed atmosphere, in order to practice their Spanish and form friendships.
