LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN MANUEL ANTONIO
Situated at the edge of the Manuel Antonio national park, COSI has been offering Spanish language lessons since 1994. The Costa Rica Spanish Institute (COSI) has a lovely view of the sea and is only 3 km from the beach. The language school offers courses for groups, private lessons, or a combination of both. Instruction places high emphasis on oral communication. The school has 12 classrooms, a large terrace, and six computers with internet (user-pay). All instructors have studied at university and take great effort to conduct lessons that are both effective and fun. There is also a volunteer program available that enables participants to provide assistance at the national park or on social projects.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The school arranges half board accommodations (breakfast and dinner) at host families, a perfect opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience about the Costa Rican culture and way of life. The host families are typically located not far from the school (15 minutes by bus). An alternative may be the many hotels in the area. Details and prices available upon request.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Each week, the school plans different activities such as dance lessons (merengue and salsa), visits to museums, movie nights and cooking lessons. Through COSI, students are able to get discounts on tours and excursions so that the sights can be enjoyed at reasonable prices. Possible trips may include river rafting, ocean kayaking, mangrove kayaking, tree top (canopy) tours, dolphin watching, diving, and much more.
