LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN LISBON
Our partner school, CIAL, is spread across three buildings, all of which are located around Saldana Square in central Lisbon, close to shops, restaurants and parks, with excellent public transport connections. The school has 20 spacious classrooms and is equipped with TVs, VCRs, computers, and a language lab. Internet access is free for all students. Language teachers have university degrees and special training in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language. The highly qualified teachers teach courses with enormous commitment to small classes with a maximum of eight students.
ACCOMMODATION
CIAL arranges accommodation with selected host families in single rooms with breakfast. Two students of the same nationality or origin are never assigned to the same family. The homes are located close to the school, a maximum of 15-30 minutes away on foot or by public transport. Other types of accommodation can be arranged on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school organizes recreational activities on a regular basis, including city tours, visits to museums and other sights, evening programmes and weekend excursions. These events are included on the price of the course, but are dependant on a minimum number of participants. Many students also discover the city on their own, for Lisbon has plenty to see. The city’s nightlife takes place mainly on the Bairro Alto and on the Avenida 24 de Julho. Shoppers will find the old town particularly interesting, as well as the Avenida de Roma, Praça de Londres, Avenida Guerra Junqueiro and Amoreiras.
