LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SALVADOR
The Diálogo Language School in the Barra section of the city is only five minutes from the beach. The school looks back on almost 20 years of experience. Classes are taught by well trained teachers, supported by materials developed in the institute itself and importance is placed on including Brazilian culture alongside language in classes. The atmosphere in the school is relaxed and informal and students soon feel at home. Students at Diálogo benefit from a varied curriculum as well as the impressive infrastructure: all classrooms are air conditioned, audio visual teaching methods are used, the school has its own kitchen for cooking courses, a large dance hall, pleasant outdoor facilities for relaxing and free internet access for all students.
ACCOMMODATION
Host families are carefully selected by Diálogo and live and average of 15 minutes away by bus. Some are even within walking distance. The families offer single rooms with a choice of breakfast or half board. The school offers single rooms with breakfast in a simple pension or in hotels of various categories for students who wish to live on their own. A pick up service from the airport can be arranged for a fee upon request. The normal arrival day is the Sunday before the course starts.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Films on current themes and Brazilian cultural events are shown in the school’s video room on a regular basis. Alongside weekend excursions into the interior, guided tours of the old town or a visit to a folklore evening, there are popular weekly, regulars tables with “local people”, where students can try out what they have recently learned in a relaxed atmosphere or make arrangements with Brazilians for an outing to one of the magnificent beaches around Salvador.
