LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN VIAREGGIO
The Centro Culturale Giacomo Puccini is a medium sized language school (maximum 100 students during the high season) located in the centre of Viareggio close to the city park. The beach is around 200 metres away, and numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafés are in the immediate vicinity. The school is housed in a 2-story, purpose designed building with 9 large, mostly sunny classrooms. The school resources also include computers with free Internet access, coffee machine, small terrace and an interior courtyard for sitting.
ACCOMMODATION
All accommodation is within easy walking distance from the school. Most of the carefully selected host families are only a few minutes walk away. Host family accommodation is in single rooms and includes breakfast or half board. The school offers additional possibilities in single or double rooms in apartments. Between 2 and 6 students are normally housed in the apartments, and also share the living room, kitchen and bathroom. On request, hotel rooms or studios can be arranged in a residence, depending on availability. It is essential to reserve early if interested.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Every Wednesday guided half day excursions are organized to the most attractive places in the area (Pisa, Lucca, Pietrasanta, Torre del Lago). The school also offers regular welcome dinners, “spaghettatas”, film evenings or group disco visits. Weekend excursions are basically independent, although the school is happy to provide advice and assistance. In addition to a lively nightlife, Viareggio also offers many possibilities for sports activities: water sports, tennis, football, golf, riding, cycling and walking tours in the nearby Massaciucoli National Park or in the Apennines, and much more.
