LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BERLIN
GLS Berlin was founded in 1983. Since 2006, the school has occupied a 9000 m² campus in Prenzlauerberg, comprising five buildings in a wide variety of architectural styles. The Prenzlauerberg section of Berlin has lots to offer in addition to the school, and enthusiastic shoppers or night clubbers will find it a paradise. The campus is used year round by students taking German courses in Berlin. Every year, some 1800 students from over 60 countries take the course at the language school, which is also a testing centre for the ZD (Zertifikat Deutsch = German Certificate). GLS Berlin has over forty classrooms, a bicycle rental, a large lounge and a restaurant and café, where you can enjoy a quiet breakfast or one of two daily dishes and cakes.
ACCOMMODATION
Host families offer single rooms with half board, within some forty minutes by public transport of the language school. Students also have the option of living in one of 50 studios directly on the campus. These mini apartments can be reserved as single, double or haf doubles. Some rooms also have three beds, with the option of booking the entire room or a single bed in a three bed room.
RECREATION
The language school organizes a minimum of three activities every week in Berlin, including walking tours of the city, boat trips on the trips on the river Spree, museum visits, Berlin nightlife and cycle tours. Sightseeing visits to such cities as Hamburg, Potsdam, Dresden or Leipzig are available on weekends. The school is also happy to organize other extra-curricular activities, especially since Berlin offers an enormous range of cultural, sporting and gastronomic highlights.
