From an architectural standpoint, Vienna has much to offer, from the gothic Stephansdom to the imperial Hofburg to the art nouveau of the Secession; from the grand art history museum to the modern day architecture in the museum quarter. Schoenbrunn, the Kaiser family’s former summer residence, is considered amongst the most beautiful baroque castles in Europe. One can just imagine how the Empress Sissi and Emperor Franz spent their summers here. For something more energetic and exciting, there is also the Vienna Prater. This amusement park features over 250 attractions including a ferris wheel that overlooks the nostalgic ghost train ride, go-cart tracks, arcades with their skill-testing games, as well as hyper-modern facilities that will catapult one’s adrenalin to lofty heights. In addition, there are many restaurants, food stands, cafés, and beer gardens.

Vienna is considered a world capital of music for good reason. More famous composers have lived in Vienna than in any other city: Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Strauss, just to name a few. The new year traditionally is welcomed in with the song ‘An der schoenen blauen Donau (Blue Danube)’ and with a waltz. But the city, of course, has lots more to offer: sophisticated coffee houses and its cuisine, which is a mixture of Bohemian, Hungarian, Italian and Austrian influences.
