ALPINE REPUBLIC IN WALTZ TIME
Austria’s rich, cultural past and present are highly valued worldwide. Its culture is showcased in the grandiose monumental structures, the classical music, Vienna waltzes, by its food, and the beautiful mountain ranges. Approximately 60% of the land area is mountains, which is why the colloquial term for the country is the ‘Alpine Republic.’ Because of its geography, Austria is the world leader in many winter sports, including alpine skiing, ski jumping, and snowboarding.

A COUNTRY WITH CULTURAL TREASURES
Austria prides itself on its rich culture, ranging from its architecture to classical music, philosophy and literature. While Wiener schnitzel, strudel and excellent wines sate the gustatory desires, the sound of music enlivens the hilly landscape. Cultural stereotypes are still very much alive, particularly in the alpine regions, even though Austrians take the refinement of their culture very seriously. One name that you should definitely not mention: Arnold Schwarzenegger.
