Tours - Centre Linguistique pour Étrangers

LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN TOURS
The Centre Linguistique pour Etrangers (CLE) was founded in 1985 by two young enthusiastic language teachers: Mr. And Mrs. Aubert. After several years spent teaching in England and Canada, they have managed the school since it was founded. Their goal is to teach current French using practical teaching materials and realistic situations drawn from everyday life. Since this is not possible with books alone, course participants are provided with additional teaching materials free of charge on a loan basis. The emphasis in teaching is on comprehension, speaking and reading, although the grammatical aspects are included in the context of themes. Small classes with a maximum of 7 participants, an effective, varied teaching program and the relaxed, spontaneous family atmosphere provides an ideal situation for learning French. The school building dates from the 18th century and was substantially renovated a few years ago. The language school has purpose-built classrooms named after famous French painters, a lounge, library and a small film library.

ACCOMMODATION
The school offers accommodation with host families in single rooms with half board (breakfast and evening meal). Hotel rooms, apartments or studios can be reserved on request.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school organizes regular excursions and visits in and around Tours. Once a month there are longer trips to other areas of France. Visits to discos, cinemas and restaurants are popular evening passtimes. Many types of sport can be practiced in Tours. The school is happy to provide information about activities and excursions.
