LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN AIX-EN-PROVENCE
The language school, founded in 1972, is housed in a charming old building some two minutes walk from the centre of Aix-en-Provence and an attractive public park. IS Institut International de Langue occupies three floors. The 15 classrooms are air conditioned and ideally equipped for small groups and private tuition. The school also has a multimedia room with computers (free Internet access), a lounge with library, TV and DVD/video, as well as a small kitchen. The sunny terrace with a view over the garden is an open invitation for students to linger in summer during the class and lunch breaks. The teaching staff at the institute comprises superbly trained teachers skilled at motivating students to learn French.
ACCOMMODATION
The school will arrange accommodation in host families with a choice of breakfast or half board (breakfast and evening meal) as well as without meals (room and cooking facilities). All families are carefully selected and regularly inspected by the school. Most host families are located in the vicinity, within 10 to 25 minutes walk or a 10-minute bus ride. Upon request, accommodation is also available in student residences, hotels or in rental apartments.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The IS Institut International de Langue has a varied recreational program. Weekly activities include wine tastings, wine and cooking evenings (Provencal cuisine), slide shows, pétanque, BBQs, festival visits and excursions to destinations such as Luberon Villages, Avignon, Gorges du Verdon, the Camargue, Cassis or Calanques. A wide range of sports is available in Aix, including golf, tennis, riding and swimming.
