LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN LA JOLLA / SAN DIEGO
A few minutes walk from the Pacific Ocean, the Hard Rock Café and La Jolla Cove lies our partner school, the EC Language School, in La Jolla. The school, which was previously known as the “International Center for American English” has acquired an excellent reputation since it opened in 1991. Small classes, averaging 9 with a maximum of 10 students, meet in classrooms with large windows, some with sea views. The language school’s carefully selected teaching staff are experienced and well trained. Some of them have previously taught abroad and are accordingly experienced in teaching foreign languages. The open, informal atmosphere of the school is very popular with course participants and enjoys a very high recommendation rate as well as excellent Cambridge results.
ACCOMMODATION
The school’s staff carefully select the host families who mostly live about a 40 to 60 minute bus ride away from the school. Since the public transport in La Jolla is not exactly the best, hiring a car is recommended (the school is about a 15-30 minute drive away). The host families provide single rooms with either half board or breakfast only. In addition, it is possible for the school to find furnished studio flats or apartments.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school organizes regular excursions and other activities, such as trips to Sea World, visits to cultural events, beach BBQs and much more. The well maintained cycle and jogging paths and the nearby ocean offer countless recreational opportunities for sports enthusiasts.
