LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN GALWAY
The Galway Language Centre, also known as “The Bridge Mill,” lies in the heart of Galway. The language school is housed in a splendidly renovated old mill, where the atmosphere is familiar and friendly. The well trained, committed teaching staff give English classes to a maximum of 10 students each. The small size of the classes is an essential component of fast, successful language acquisition.
ACCOMMODATION
The carefully selected host families, who never have more than one student with the same mother tongue, provide single rooms with breakfast and supper, supplemented by lunch on weekends. The families live in good residential areas and are easily reached by bus- normally no more than a 20-minute ride. Alternatively, accommodation can be arranged in a B&B.
RECREATIONAL POTENTIAL
The school offers a good, albeit limited program of activities and excursions, since the participants in many cases prefer to organize their own. Dublin, for example, is less than 3 hours away by train. The inhabitants of Galway are extremely social and can be found in the countless pubs, where Irish folk music is often played spontaneously. Events and festivals are a regular feature of life in Galway. There are also plenty of sports activities: golf, riding, fishing, squash, tennis, swimming or a visit to the fitness centre.
