LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN GALWAY
The Atlantic Language School has been housed in a new, modern building since summer 2003. The modern infrastructure, high quality standards and friendly, international atmosphere make this an outstanding school. The language school is located in the centre of Galway, just a few minutes’ walk from the main shopping street, the railway station and many restaurants and pubs. The school offers a wide selection of courses and is notable for individual attention to students. The infrastructure includes 18 large teaching rooms, a language laboratory, free internet access for students, a library, a study room, cafeteria and roof garden.
ACCOMMODATION
The Language School has been working together successfully with most of the host families for a number of years. They offer single rooms with half board during the week and full board on weekends. Care is taken to ensure that each family hosts only one student with the same mother tongue at any time. The host families are located on average between 20 and 30 minutes from the school.
RECREATIONAL POTENTIAL
The school organizes social pub and cinema evenings, visits to cultural events, festivals and theatres, as well as such sports events as bowling, tennis, squash, golf, wind surfing, sailing, fishing or riding. Excursions to Connemara National Park, the Isle of Aran, the country houses and castles in the vicinity or to Dublin are also available. The inhabitants of Galway are extremely sociable and can be found in the countless pubs, where Irish folk music is often performed spontaneously. Galway regularly hosts events and festivals, on which the school will be happy to provide information.
