PLENTY TO OFFER
Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and, with a population of around 300,000, the second largest city on the island of Ireland after Dublin. Despite being smaller than Dublin or London, the city has much to see, such as a giant art festival, works of art along the riverbanks and the ultra- modern “Odyssey Complex”. There are also tragic reminders of the decades of conflict in Northern Ireland. Despite occasional relapses, the atmosphere in today’s Belfast is one of determined optimism. The 1997 armistice and the Good Friday Agreement of 1998 brought peace back to Belfast, providing a basis for the city to dare to rebuild and “reinvent itself”.

FOOTBALL CITY
The city of Belfast is host to numerous festivals and events. One program organized by the city itself that runs from May to September is “Summer in the City” offering something for every taste, with a series of concerts covering every type of music from classical to traditional. Belfast’s gates are open to visitors year round, although the months from April to June and September are undoubtedly the best: they offer the best weather, the sky is frequently cloudless, the days are longer and all attractions are accessible.
