LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SCARBOROUGH
Anglolang Academy of English in Scarborough, founded in 1984, is housed in a spacious 19th century mansion, located just 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Scarborough and the nearby beach. The school has over 17 classrooms, a cafeteria, a multimedia centre, a lounge for students as well as its own cinema for film evenings. With a capacity of around 220 students from all over the world, the atmosphere in the school is highly international. The school sets great store by its qualified, experienced teaching staff, who look after the students. All the teachers have university degrees or comparable language or teacher training. Some of them also administer the various Cambridge exams in their capacity as experts. Anglolang accordingly has a reputation for high educational standards.
ACCOMMODATION
The school offers single rooms with carefully selected host families. Breakfast, an evening meal and a box lunch are available on school days, with breakfast, lunch and an evening meal on weekends. The host families are located between 2 and 25 minutes walk from the school. Other accommodations (guest houses, hotels) are available on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The ALA, alongside a range of evening events, organizes regular day-long outings on weekends (e.g. to Edinburgh, London, Haworth or the Lake District). Scarborough itself also offers a wide range of interesting free time activities: golf, swimming, tennis, riding, football, theatre, concerts and a lively nightlife.
