The Manchester Academy of English, founded in 1991, is located in a historic building in the centre of Manchester. The school is close to shops, restaurants, cafés and hip bars. ACCOMMODATION
Manchester Academy of English host families provide single rooms with half board. They are located as a rule some 30 minutes from the school by public transportation. Most families live close to an underground, bus or train station. The school also has its own student accommodation, located some 15 minutes by bus from the school. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
After class and on weekends, the Manchester Academy of English offers a wide choice of activities. Pub visits, theatre evenings, visits to the Manchester United museum as well as excursions in and around Manchester. Some activities involve additional costs. Students who wish to enjoy Manchester’s nightlife will find their Elderado in the northern quarter or around Deansgate, especially now that mandatory “closing time” has been abolished in Britain.
