London - Hampstead School of English

LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN LONDON
The Hampstead School of English, founded in 1977, is located in North London on the border of Hampstead and West Hampstead. Hampstead is one of London’s best-known areas, only 25 minutes from the centre. The school is on a main street leading directly to the city centre, with excellent public transport. The language school has a strong international orientation, with students from over 40 countries. The infrastructure comprises bright, spacious classrooms with TV/DVD, a library with books, magazines and films, a computer room with 28 PCs, wireless internet for laptops throughout the building, a cafeteria and 2 interior courtyards where participants can relax during the breaks and after class. All teachers are experienced, qualified teachers of English. They are friendly, obliging and attentive to the students’ needs and wishes. The popular Cambridge Preparatory Courses are offered, alongside standard and intensive courses.

ACCOMMODATIONS
The hospitable and experienced host families are carefully selected by the school and offer single rooms with half board. By request and on availability, they can offer ‘Premium’ homestay accommodations, which usually means a bigger room with a private washroom, in a location closer to the school. For the independent student, studio accommodations may be arranged, located between five to 30 minutes from the school. Each studio has a private washroom, desk, closet and drawers, a TV, and free internet connection.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school’s recreational program changes every week and offers something for every taste: visits to museums, tours in and around London, sports, parties, walking tours, pub visits, discos and much more. The Hampstead School of English organizes video afternoons, karaoke evenings and theatre visits throughout the year. Every weekend, the school offers at least two excursions to other cities and to other notable sights outside London. Oxford, Stonehenge and Bath are some of the favourites. A visit to London is not only an excellent opportunity to improve one’s language knowledge, but also a chance to get to know this popular capital and the culture of its inhabitants better.
