LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BROADSTAIRS
Hilderstone College, founded in 1970, is a medium-sized school acredited by the British Council with an international reputation. The school is located in the centre of Broadstairs and has an excellent infrastructure. This includes a multimedia and Self-Access centre, free Internet access (wireless for laptops) and a library. All classrooms are spacious and have modern equipment. Class size is limited to a maximum of 12 students, which has a positive impact on teaching, since the highly qualified teaching staff can focus more closely on each student’s individual requirements. The international orientation of Hilderstone College furthermore ensures an interesting blend of nationalities, with a small percentage of Swiss students. The school has acquired a strong reputation over the years, not only for adult courses but also in advanced training for teachers.
ACCOMMODATION
The host families are carefully selected by the school and are located no more than 20 minutes walk away. The families offer single room with half board (full board on weekends). Information on Bed and Breakfasts in the vicinity is available on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Hilderstone College has a weekly program of activities. These include pub and video evenings, communal BBQs or visits to concerts. Sports possibilities include tennis, bowling, wind surfing, squash, sailing and riding. The opportunity also exists to take part in weekend excursions organized by the school (to Kent, Canterbury, London, Brighton, or Cambridge).
