The English Language Centre opened in 1969 and has many years’ experience in teaching. Both school buildings are located in Clifton, a part of the city very close to the University of Bristol. The firmly established language school offers a very wide range of courses, including intensive courses, individual instruction and all the Cambridge preparatory courses. The exciting mixes of nationalities, with students from around 35 countries, and the moderate size, with an average of 180 course participants, are further pluses. The school infrastructure includes a library, language lab, lounge, garden and a multimedia centre with free Internet access. The English Language Centre emphasizes personal attention to each participant, alongside high academic standards and well-trained teaching staff.

ACCOMMODATION
The school offers accommodation in selected host families in single rooms with half board. The families are located a maximum of 30 minutes from the school by public transport. Various student apartments and rooms in the nearby Goldney Hall University Residence offer an alternative to host families. Further details may be obtained on request.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The language school offers a varied recreational program. An activities coordinator compiles a new program every week. The activities include a variety of excursions (e.g. to Oxford or London), film evenings, city tours, communal dinners, rugby games, etc. Bristol is a university town and is famous for an exciting nightlife, which course participants will enjoy discovering on their own.
