The Beet Language Centre, founded in 1979, has an excellent reputation and is very popular among Swiss students because of its excellent price-performance ratio and the relaxed, personal atmosphere. The director of the school is known for his educational materials and with his committed teachers provides an interesting, entertaining course- whether for intensive or standard courses or the Cambridge preparatory courses. The school also offers advanced training courses for teachers. The Beet Language Centre, based in a quiet Bournemouth neighbourhood, has purpose-designed classrooms, a computer room, a language lab, library, cafeteria and common room, which is used for evening activities.
ACCOMMODATION
The dedicated host family administrator sets great store by a careful choice of accommodation. Care is taken that no two students with the same mother tongue are housed with the same host family. Single rooms with half board during the week and full board at weekends are offered. Most families live no more than 10 minutes by bus or 20 minutes walk from the school.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The language school offers an evening program at least four times per week, either a video-quiz or music evening or a lecture on a specific topic. The evenings when the teaching staff go on stage in the common room and display their “theatrical abilities” are also popular. The Beet Language Centre offers regular Saturday excursions to locations such as London, Bath, Oxford or Stonehenge. Sport is also a major part of the Bournemouth program.
