LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN WHISTLER
The Tamwood International College has been offering English courses since 1992. The school is located in the centre of Whistler Village, just a few minutes walk from restaurants, cafés and ski lifts. Light, spacious, modern classrooms, a comfortable lounge and a fully equipped multimedia centre are a part of Tamwood’s infrastructure. Use of the Internet by students is free of charge. The highly motivated teaching staff ensure that the courses are interesting. Alongside the standard, intensive and Cambridge Courses, the school offers combined courses such as English plus ski or snowboard lessons, English plus preparatory courses for ski/snowboard instructors (CASI) and in the summer, English plus biking. The school enjoys a high rate of recommendations due to the multifaceted selection of courses and sports available.
ACCOMMODATION
As a result of the good communication with the individual host families, the school is able to respond to the wishes of course participants. The number of host families in Whistler however is very limited and clients are strongly recommended to book in good time. Single and double rooms with breakfast and dinner are offered. In addition there is also the opportunity to stay in a student house. Located 15 minutes from the school, the elegantly decorated house has 4 bedrooms (3 double and 1 single), a spacious dining/living room, a kitchen and two bathrooms. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
There is virtually no limit to the recreational potential in terms of sports in Whistler. The famous Canadian powder snow speaks for itself- snowboarding, skiing, ice hockey and ice skating are available in winter. The summers also have plenty to offer: first class climbing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, riding, and downhill mountain biking, which is popular in Canada. The school itself offers an attractive program of activities and recreation and is happy to give advice about what is available in and around Whistler.
