LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN VICTORIA, VANCOUVER ISLAND
The Global Village on Vancouver Island (in Victoria) is a relatively young school. As a member of the organization of the same name, with schools in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary, it can draw on many years of language school experience through its partnership network. It is accordingly hardly surprising that the school in Victoria has already established an excellent reputation, notwithstanding its recent founding. The proportion of students from Switzerland is still relatively small. The school is located in the centre of Victoria, the largest city on Vancouver Island and the capital of British Columbia. With a maximum of 170 students, the school is of modest size and students get to know each other quickly. The well-trained teaching staff strive to provide a pleasant, friendly atmosphere alongside high quality teaching. The school is very well equipped and offers everything that a modern language school requires. The popular Cambridge First Courses are also available.
ACCOMMODATION
The host families are selected with great care by the school’s management and are located 30 to 40 minutes from the school, in all cases within easy reach by public transport. The families offer single rooms with full board. On days when courses are in session the students receive a packed lunch. Information on studio and hotel accommodation is available upon request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The language school offers a varied program of regular activities and recreation and is happy to provide information on the many possibilities in and around Victoria. Vancouver Island is famous for whale watching- one of nature’s incomparable spectacles. The historic area of the city around the harbour is home to countless galleries, cafés and shopping arcades. Cycling, golf, fishing and diving are just a few of the sports that are available. On weekends, students can visit Vancouver Island, which is roughly the same size as Britain, or the metropolis of Vancouver, which is 2 hours away by regular connections.
