LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN VANCOUVER
The Pacific Language Institute, abbreviated to PLI, has two locations in the centre of Vancouver. Classrooms are modern and very well equipped. The multimedia room, for example, can also be used after formal classes- use of the Internet is free of charge. The school does everything to ensure a pleasant, personal atmosphere. Magazines and newspapers are available in the large lounge along with free tea and coffee. The teachers are all qualified and experienced in teaching English and in dealing with students. There is one important rule: in the interests of the students, English is the only language allowed in the school- and this is strictly observed.
ACCOMMODATION
The host families are selected with great care by the school and are located in the suburbs of Vancouver, although they are easily accessible by public transport. The families offer single room with half board with breakfast and dinner. The average commuting time to the school is between 40 and 50 minutes (Zone 2). Accommodation with host families with the student’s own bathroom and/or in Zone 1 can also be arranged- depending on availability. If desired, the school can also organize accommodation in a studio or apartment. Early booking is recommended, especially in summer.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
PLI offers a varied range of recreational activities during the week and excursions on weekends. These range from kayaking to beach volleyball, riding, cycling in Stanley Park or picnicking by the sea. Whale watching, wilderness camping or skiing and snowboarding in winter are regular weekend activities. Many students obtain the necessary information from the school and organize independent weekend excursions. Vancouver at night offers something for everyone: concerts, theatres, restaurants and clubs.
