LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN CALGARY
This popular language school opened its doors in 1995 as the Rocky Mountain English Centre in the former Olympic city. Sports and nature enthusiasts, who want to experience the real Canada, find what they are looking for in Calgary. As a member of the Global Village group, the school offers high quality courses given by well-trained teachers. The school is located in the centre of Calgary, just a few steps from Stephen Street Mall or the Calgary Tower and close to public transport. Street cafés, boutiques and shopping arcades are also located close to the school. Global Village is housed on the 4th floor of an office building. Its infrastructure includes 10 classrooms, a large lounge and a language laboratory.
ACCOMMODATION
Experiencing Canada in a host family is the ideal complement to language training. Students are housed with carefully selected host families, who offer single rooms with full board (breakfast, dinner and a boxed lunch at noon). Commuting from home to school by public transport takes a maximum of 30 to 40 minutes. Other types of accommodation are available upon request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Sports enthusiasts have the option of all types of winter sports- especially skiing and snowboarding- or depending on the season mountain biking, mountain touring, riding or rafting. Popular sports such as basketball, swimming, volleyball, softball or rollerblading are also available. Excursions organized by the school are especially popular, such as a visit to a cowboy range, rodeos, trips to nature parks and the Rocky Mountains, ski outings, mountain biking or BBQs. Film evenings and school parties are also popular.
