LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SYDNEY
Sydney College of English has an excellent reputation and has been offering English language courses since 1987. The school’s modern premises are located in a commercial building in the city’s Broadway section. Although not directly in the centre, Darling Harbour and Central Station are only a ten-minute walk away. Chinatown, Little Italy and the City Centre are a little farther, albeit a mere ten minutes away by bus. The infrastructure comprises 37 bright, air conditioned classrooms, free internet access, a language laboratory, study room with library (Video/DVD) and six lounges. The experienced teaching staff place great emphasis on high-quality English teaching.
ACCOMMODATION
The host families are carefully chosen by a homestay coordinator. The school is meticulous in ensuring that each family receives only one student per country or language. Accommodation is available in single rooms with half board during the week and full board on weekends. Travel times average between 30 and 40 minutes. The school will arrange for transfer from the airport to the host family, for a fee.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
An activity coordinator is responsible for the recreational program. Alongside weekday activities and weekend excursions, the school has an arrangement with the world famous Sydney Dance Centre, where students can take courses ranging from Jazz Dance to Ballet and Afro Dance. Diving courses (PADI) are also offered on weekends. Memberships in local sports clubs can be arranged on-site for students staying longer. Alongside the organized activities, Sydney of course offers a vast range of recreational possibilities that students can explore for themselves.
