LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN SYDNEY
The Australian College of English in Manly is staffed by dedicated teachers with extensive experience in teaching English as a foreign language. The course level is correspondingly high, and the Cambridge preparatory courses are therefore highly recommended. The government- accredited institute runs two language schools in Sydney, one in Manly and one in Bondi Junction. The Australian College of English in the suburb of Manly is a little farther away from the rush of the big city, but it is in the immediate vicinity of the famous beach. Manly is easily reached by bus or ferry in approximately 30 minutes from the city centre. The classrooms are appropriately furnished, and some even have sea views. Students have access to two computer rooms with free internet, as well as a language lab, a library and a lounge with TV and video/DVD. The willing, helpful student advisors also contribute to a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
ACCOMMODATION
Our partner school will arrange single rooms with half board (full board on weekends) in selected host families. A home stay coordinator is responsible for selecting and administering the families. The city’s size means that average travel times range from 30-40 minutes. Transfers from the airport to the host family can be arranged for a fee.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The language school offers a wide range of recreational activities and even has its own club, the “Boomerang Club”. Visits to theatres and concerts are arranged during the week along with joint evening meals. One day’s outing a week is also organized. The range of sports activities available in Sydney is unlimited, although water sports are especially popular because of the proximity to the sea.
