The beaches and the centre can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by public transit. Founded in 1989, the Phoenix Academy ranks today as one of Perth’s leading language schools. Alongside the intensive courses, the school is also well known for its impressive success rate on the Cambridge Preparatory Courses. Phoenix Academy, with an average of some 300 students, is located in attractive, campus-like buildings. Most students spend their breaks in the shaded garden or in the lounges. Inexpensive drinks and snacks can be purchased in the school’s dining hall.
ACCOMMODATION
The language school places particular emphasis on the selection of host families, which are judged against demanding quality criteria. Accommodation is available with host families in single rooms with half board and full board on weekends. Families are located an average of 25 to 30 minutes away from the school. Other types of accommodation can be found on request. Students can be picked up at the airport and taken to their host family for a fee.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The varied recreational program changes weekly. Alongside activities and excursions organized by the school, the nearby Indian Ocean Beaches, the bike paths along the swan river or the shopping malls in the centre of Perth all have their temptations.
