Lexis English in Noosa- previously known as the “Sunshine Coast English College”- can claim to offer English courses in one of Australia’s most beautiful seaside resorts. The appeal of the language school, centrally located near to cafés and the famous surfing beaches, comes from its family atmosphere and friendly teaching staff. Spacious classrooms, a library and a multimedia room, in addition to an internet café are available for the students, who average 130. The Global Village also offers, along with standard and intensive courses, the Cambridge preparatory courses. The language school also has a high recommendation rate, which speaks volumes about the quality of the teaching.
ACCOMMODATION
The host families are carefully selected by the school and are often only a five to 15 minute journey by public transport away. A few families live in Tewantin or Peregian Beach which can take 20 to 25 minutes by public transport. The families offer single rooms with half board. Since summer 2007, Global Village has had their own student house at Challenge Court about two kilometres away from the school, near to the beach. Specific details available on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The language school offers an extensive program of activities and recreation. Depending on the season, innumerable sports ranging from wind surfing, surfing, parachute jumping and golf to climbing and diving are available. Camel rides, visits to a crocodile farm or a cooking course are also offered. Excursions to the world’s largest sand island, Fraser Island, are an absolute must for visitors. For those who miss an extensive shopping expedition in a large city, Brisbane is only 90 minutes away by public transport.
