LANGUAGE SCHOOL OF AIRLIE BEACH
The Whitsundays College of English opened in 2002 and is the youngest language school belonging to SACE, a group of schools with long experience in Adelaide and Hobart. The school has been located in Airlie Beach in a modern campus since 2007 only 5 minutes from the sea- close to the shopping street in Cannonvale. The infrastructure comprises seven large air conditioned classrooms, a lounge, a coffee shop and computers with free internet. The team of committed teachers and the small classes virtually guarantee fast progress in a family-type environment. Along with standard and intensive courses, preparatory courses are offered for First and Advanced Cambridge examinations. All in all, this is a small, personal language school in a glorious, relaxed environment.
ACCOMMODATION
The local host families are carefully chosen and offer single rooms with half board (full board on weekends). Most host families are easily reached on foot or by bus. Other types of accommodation on request.
RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The school management maintains close contact with a local diving and sailing school which offers diving and sailing courses for beginners and advanced. Additional crew are often needed for sailing trips- an opportunity to sail free of charge and get to know the natives. BBQs, camping in the national park, kayaking or snorkelling trips are organized by the school. Also worth noting, Laguna Keys, one of Australia’s best known golf courses, is only 20 minutes from the school.
