LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN BEIJING
Our partner school in Beijing, which opened in 2005, lies directly inside the Working Peoples Culture Palace, which is one component of the Imperial Palace. Just a few steps from the school lies the “Forbidden City”, the trademark of China’s capital. Also in the immediate vicinity is Tian’anmen Square, with the two subway stations of the same name. The famous Wangfujing shopping street is less than 10 minutes walk away. Instruction takes place in mini-groups, with an average of 5 students per class. The highly qualified Sprachcaffee team is multilingual (although all are native speakers of Mandarin) and are very experienced in teaching the Chinese language. The Sprachcaffee offers not only standard and intensive Chinese courses, but also courses in Chinese painting and Tai Chi. Due to the school’s optimal location in a large park, students can go outside at any time to study or just enjoy being in one of the pavilions. Sprachcaffee also has Internet access for a minimal charge.
ACCOMMODATION
The school does not arrange for students to stay with host families but instead offers accommodation in guest house rooms and guest house comfort rooms (4 star quality) which are located centrally only a few underground stops from the language school (15 to 30 minutes). RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Sprachcaffee offers Tai Chi courses as well as Chinese painting. There is a tennis court, which students can use for a fee, some 50 metres from the school. Football, table tennis and basketball are also popular in Beijing and can be found in one of the many sports clubs. Alongside the many Chinese restaurants, cafés and restaurants serving western food are also easy to find. Restaurants in China are generally open throughout the day, many even round the clock. The many restaurants and pubs in the “Hou-Hai” area are very trendy. The school is happy to provide tips for recreational activities and excursions in and around Beijing.
