COMBINING LANGUAGE TRAVEL WITH A SOCIAL CAUSE

Zug, July 16, 2009 – Effective immediately, Boa Lingua is offering a ‘Work and Study’ program combining language travel with volunteerism, work placement, or a gap year.

Boa Lingua is expanding its language travel offerings. The new language travel program, ‘Work and Study,’ combines language courses with volunteerism. With these socially-responsible placements, participants support non-profit organizations. These organizations are primarily active in social causes, education, and animal or environmental protection; for example, volunteers tend to children at orphanages, care for animals, or help at a nature conservation area. The new ‘Work and Study’ program also offers the possibility of taking a language course combined with a practicum such as a paid work placement abroad, or a gap year. During a gap year, participants can take either a long-term language course (16 weeks in duration); a year-long language program (studying two languages in two destinations); or, a Demi-Pair program (combining a language course with working as an Au Pair).

The ‘Work and Study’ program enables participants to immerse themselves in a culture; to be in close contact with locals; and use the foreign language on a daily basis, thereby making great strides in the learning process.
